The American English are a band founded by four national /international touring musicians:
Formally from the band Hey Monday signed with Columbia Records, Pat McKenzie is a drummer, singer, songwriter and producer. His Band Hey Monday was a national and international touring group, between 2008 and 2012. During this time, the band completed many high profile tours spanning the globe in places such as the U.K., Asia, South America, Australia, and North America. The band was named the fourth hardest touring group in 2009, having completed over 250 shows in a single year. Through out his career Pat has acquired endorsement deals with Zildjian, ProMark, Evans and Puresound.
After the disbanding of Hey Monday, Pat began playing drums for various high profile artists; As a hired gun, he completed many national and international tours. Also, during this time, he attended Berklee College of Music (specializing in drums). ln addition, he studied lyrical tools and strategies, and pop rock vocals for several semesters.
British born lead singer / songwriter, pianist and producer, Ollie Wride, began his career in music signing to Atlantic Records whilst attending music college in Brighton, UK. Wride based himself between London and Los Angeles, developing his craft as a songwriter whilst being paired with artists, producers and songwriters including Meat Loaf, Rob Cavallo, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Adrian Gurvitz, Lauren Christie. In addition, Wride has composed for Netflix, Channel 4 (UK) and “Colour Switch”.
Returning to England, he took his newly honed skills and natural flare for performing to the stage. Amassing a following on the UK underground scene, it wasn’t long before Wride earned coveted opening slots for The Kooks, Jessie J and Olly Murs playing to arenas and festivals across UK and Europe.
He is lead singer / songwriter for San Francisco based “FM-84”. The duo released their highly acclaimed record “Atlas” (2016) which saw their debut shows at DNA Lounge, SF and Globe Theatre, LA sell-out. The record remains in the top 5 highest selling records on Bandcamp. They have recently completed their debut UK / US tour playing to sellout crowds on both sides of the Atlantic.
Ryan McKenzie, bass guitarist, pianist, singer, and songwriter has been pursuing a Masters Degree in Musical Composition and Theory. During that time, he was a keyboard player for various high profile artists. In addition, he completed several national tours. Ryan, quite possibly the strongest Instrumentalist, has expert ability on the piano and bass guitar, as well as professional abilities on various other instruments.
J.J. Tiberio is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter. During his career, J.J. has worked for a multitude of A list groups: Third Eye Blind, Andy Grammer, Meghan Trainor, Vance Joy, Evanescence, Gavin DeGraw, Panic at the Disco, We The Kings, and many others. Starting out as a guitar tech at the age of 18, he has travelled the globe many times. He has also worked as a hired gun, filling in as a guitarist for international and national tours, as well as performing on late night shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live. Also during this time, J.J. has advanced his education in music, by completing several guitar programs through Berklee College of Music.
